Meet Veet’s new Body Duo 2 in 1 Solution shaver and epilator:

A cordless shaver on one side and a two-speed epilator on the other, Veet’s new gadget is fully rechargeable and can run for 40 minutes on its own. Included in the kit is an adaptable plug-in wall charger, travel pouch, cleaning brush and a special numbing spray to help desensitize your skin before epilation.

I’d never used an epilator before but always wanted to try it, if only out of curiosity. I mean I’d never actually become an epilator kind of girl, right? I mean come on… those things are just like sooo ’80’s’… not to mention eye-wateringly painful, right?

Merrily, as it turns out, epilation really doesn’t hurt half as much as I thought it would. Sure, it’s not the most comfy way to de-fuzz your bikini line, but I didn’t find it all that exceptionally eina even without using the numbing spray. Still, if you’re a real baby, you can always pop a painkiller beforehand.
Anyway, despite looking terrifying, (like the kind of thing that can snag your lady bits, chew ’em up and spit them out… Mwuwhahahaha!), the epilator’s actually pretty safe. I eventually got up enough nerve to place my finger across its head as it ran at full speed and it didn’t gobble it up. Its ’42-tweezer system’ is designed to grab onto teeny tiny little hairs, not skin.
After a few deep breaths, I sucked up the guts to try it on my bikini line. Like I said, it didn’t hurt as much as I expected and within four minutes I’d removed all my unwanted hair. I liked that I didn’t have to keep running it over the same area to clean everything up; it kinda grabbed everything wherever it was used in one fell swoop and only struggled to remove a few very short hairs that lay really close to the skin. Afterwards, my skin looked a little red, but I slapped on a bit of my beloved The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade night cream (its loaded with soothing tea tree oil) and the next morning I was ready to rock a skimpy li’l bikini bottom. Yay!
In the past, I’ve used Veet hair removal cream to sort out my nether regions, but now I’m going to keep on using the epilator. I like that it’s not as messy, doesn’t involve having to jump into a shower afterwards and, because it pulls the hair out from the root, it doesn’t grow back as fast.
Now let’s talk about the shaver…
This is handy in that its great to trim those few stray bikini line hairs that epilator misses. It also did a decent job of removing underarm hair quick and painlessly. Still, I wouldn’t use this on my legs as I don’t feel it gives me as close or as good a shave as I get from using a razor blade in the bath.
In all, if you’re over other hair removal options and looking to try an epilator, this one’s pretty good. I’d totally recommend it to anyone.

Can you use the epilator on your legs or would that take forever and hurt like hell?
Definitely. The best bit is that it really doesn’t hurt your legs at all; the only ‘ouchy’ spot I had with the epilator was my bikini line. Still, you’d have to let your leg hair grow quite long, the same way you do with waxing and even then you’d probably miss a few of the finer ones, so you wouldn’t have to throw your razor away entirely.
I also never thought I’d use an epilator, but it is amazing! I almost never shave now. I use it for my legs, bikini area and underarms. Best of all I only have to do it weekly! You don’t get such a smooth shave on your legs though… It takes a while to get most of the hair. But still, it grows back softer so even if there are a few leftover hairs it still looks smooth!
Epilating my thigh above my knee is the ouchest for me…
Ja, agreed, you need to run it over your legs a few times to really get everything, that’s why I’m going to stick to shaving there and use it on my bikini line only – for that it’s BRILLIANT. 😉
Hi I’ve just bought a veet duo just wondered were the charging socket is on the duo can’t seem to see it thanks?x
Hi Sara! I’m not at home so I can’t check mine (I still have it and love it) but I do remember that it’s tricky to find. Just take off both head covers and you’ll eventually find it. It’s there, I promise!
Actually… if I remember correctly, you’ll spot the charger socket when the covers are on. So put it together and then check both ends and you should see it.
Hi
Can this be used in the shower or is it just a dry epilator????
Hi hun! It’s just a dry epilator. I wouldn’t get it wet.
Good review but I really love my electric epilator Karmin
