Filorga Anti-ageing foam cleanser review

Did you know that Lady Gaga is a big Filorga fan? The brand’s just launched a new anti-aging cleanser and I got to give it a bash…

Filorga Anti-ageing foam cleanser, R285 for 150ml, aims to cleanse while helping to turn back the hands of time thanks to skin plumping hyaluronic acid and white lily extract, a soothing, calming antioxidant.

As far as the anti-aging claims go, Filorga’s right in that hyaluronic acid DOES helps to moisturise and plump up your skin. (It’s a water-binding ingredient, so it manages to suck all the moisture in your skin towards itself and then swell up in your face to create a nice, lush-looking complexion.) Thing is, I’ve had dermatologists tell me I needn’t really bother with anti-aging ingredients in face wash as they don’t sit on your skin long enough to be absorbed properly and have a real effect. They’re kind of just splashed on and washed off. Thus, I wasn’t too excited about the whole ‘anti-ageing’ aspect of the wash.

Still, this doesn’t mean its not a good face wash…

Filorga’s new cleanser is a feather-light foam that feels like water on your face and doesn’t lather up any further once it meets your skin. Despite this, it still manages to remove make-up with the ease; the only thing it battled to remove was waterproof mascara and longwearing eye liner.

Another thing I noticed? It doesn’t leave your skin feeling ‘sqeaky clean’ or tight, making it ideal for those with very dry or sensitive skin. I also liked that a little really goes a long way and I have no doubt a single bottle will last for yonks…
