Scholl I-Pop mini massager review

Scholl, the foot care brand, are now making hand little massagers. Check out their new I-Pop mini massager, R149,90, which I found in my goodie back from Clicks.

In the box...

And out the box:

Cute ne?

My boyfriend reckons it looks like a sex toy for people who are too afraid to buy a real one…

Hey there little girl...

Anyhoo… the I-Pop promises to help ease sore, tired muscles with two vibration settings (medium and fast) and an infrared light that only works when you’ve got it on the medium setting. The light’s rays intend to ‘get to the root of the problem’ by helping to stimulate the release of oxygen-rich blood and nitric oxide, the latter of which helps your blood vessels to relax.

I'm watching you! I'll know where you stick me...

Having given it a good go, I can tell you that it does help ease achy muscles that are near the surface of your skin – think your back, neck and head muscles. (It actually helped out with a tension headache last night. I still needed to pop a muscle relaxant to truly sort it out, but it certainly assisted in easing the discomfort until the dwelms kicked in.) If you’ve pulled a butt muscle or strained something deep inside your leg, however, I find its vibration isn’t able to penetrate deep enough to make a big difference.

Otherwise, I like the sleek, ergonomic lines of the I-Pop. It’s easy to hold, simple to use and can reach pretty much any bit of your bod. Keep an eye out for it in Clicks. It comes in four cutesy colours (lime, turquoise, violet and pink) and requires four AA batteries. These aren’t included, so be sure to pop them in your basket before you take it home.
