Make the switch!

Okay boys, we’re going to be talking about ‘sanitary protection’ now… Perhaps you’d prefer to click away and view my now infamous Peroni yacht pillow fight piccies. (They’re still the most clicked on piccies on my blog…)

So, back to tampons and pads…

When I was younger, I used to be a Lil-lets kinda girl, ‘cos, well, every girl in my class used them. They were also more expensive then other brands, so we all kinda considered them to be the ‘Ferrari’ of sanitary wear. Then, as I grew older and discovered that there are more exciting things to spend my money on, I made the shift to the o.b. brand as they were always on special and ridiculously cheap. Still, I remember what a big a deal it was for me to take the plunge and toss that first packet of o.b’s into my basket as opposed to Lil-lets. It felt so… weird… to move away from a brand I’d felt so close to (literally – ha!) while growing up.

Anyway, I’ll now going to make yet another switcheroo and start purchasing Click’s new in-house brand.

Clicks panty liners on left, tampons on right.

Aside from being good quality (Clicks, being the monster retailer that it is can’t afford to attach its name to a bunch of crap), they’re now the cheapest on the shelves. For example, the tampons (available in various sizes in packs of 16) cost between R14,99 and R18,99! They’re almost exactly HALF the price of the Lil-lets!

I also took the time to work it out ‘cos that’s the kind of time you have on your hands when you’re retrenched; if you switch to Clicks’ tampons from the priciest brand, you’re saving a cool R180 a year (provided you go through a box month). And who can say no to a ‘free’ R180? You can use it to get a gel mani or pedi, treat yourself and a friend to a sushi lunch or snap up a MAC Lipglass…

So ja… I’m making the switch. Will you?

  1. Oh you make me laugh. I’m a Lillets girls too but when you spell it out like that… think I’m going to give the no name brand tampons a go. It is weird/scary though. Changing brands. But I’m going to do it. xGx
