Just Skin Aesthetic Clinic celebrates their first birthday

Yesterday evening I popped into Just Skin in Green Point to join owner, Carol MacCullum, in celebrating the salon’s very first birthday.

Just Skin owner Carol MacCallum and daughter, Kim (on left)

Just Skin is were I got my eye’s ‘did’ the other day… (Their botox doc, Dr. Gerhard van Niekerk is definitely the best I’ve been to.) Guests were treated to yummy Pierre Jourdan champers and canapes, but the highlight of the event was the uber-decadent carrot cake.

Gorgeous, right?

It was so yummy and moist and the icing was a soft, white chocolate buttercream that just melted in your mouth… Can you believe Carol’s daughter, Kim, made it herself? She’s so good at the sweet stuff that she’s started her own cake-making and events company, Tasteful Art.

We also got free samples of Guinot products.

Guinot Longue Vie Yeux Smoothing Eye-lifting cream - it's got a soft, pretty floral scent.

This morning I used the above Guinot eye cream on just one of my eye’s (‘cos I’m a freak like that…) I liked that despite its rich, balm-like texture, it sunk into my skin in a flash and helped reduce the puffiness on both my lid and beneath the eye. (It contains wheat protein that has an instant tightening effect on the skin). Would now love to apply more to my other oogie, but don’t want to mess with my carefully applied concealer. ;-P

Anyhoo, a big congrats to Carol and the Just Skin girls – I love, love, love your work!
