Have you bought your tickets for Franschhoek Uncorked yet? For those of you out the loop, this is one of the valley’s biggest, most fabulous wine festivals and, this year, I’m lucky enough to be s
and this year be staying over at le uber luxe 5-star Holden Manz wine estate. (I know, I know. I’d hate me too. Feel free to stick gum in my hair next time you spot me out. I’ll totally suck it up.)
Anyway, if you do come through for the festival, make a plan to pop in at Holden Manz. The estate will be launching their much anticipated new Rose and serve it up with a selection of sinfully delish-sounding gourmet goodies. Think Karoo Lamb Lollies with Hummus & Olive vinaigrette, Salt & Pepper Squid with Chile jam and Truffled Patatas Bravas. (Honestly, just the truffled potato bits sound like they’d be worth the drive alone!)

Aside from all the nibbles, the estate’s restaurant, Franschhoek Kitchen, will also be running as per usual but booking is absolutely essential.
Entertainment-wise, I’ve been told to expect a bunch of hot SA bands performing live but they’re being a bit secretive as to who they are so I’m going to call the PR co tomorrow and try and wangle it out of them.
To find out more about Holden Manz’ festival plans, check out their Facebook page they’ve created especially for the event over here.
Hope to see you there,
Leigh
