Destiny magazine’s founding editor, Khanyi Dhlomo, is about to open her very own boutique, Luminance, in Jozi’s Hyde Park Corner.

Aside from offering an array of items from the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Mark Jacobs and Giorgio Armani, Luminance will also be home to more affordable labels like Kate Space and BCBG Max Azaria. You’ll also find the odd SA designer in the mix; think Stoned Cherry, Gavin Rajah and co, as well as exclusive, luxurious beauty goodies like Tom Ford Private Blend and Armani Prive fragrances.
Because Khanyi likes to share the love, she’s breezed into Cape Town to run Luminance’s pop up store at the V&A Waterfront. I was invited to the launch last night and got to sip on champers while browsing the store.
Here’s a peek at what’s inside:

..

Celebrity guests included Elana Afrika, Liezel van der Westhuizen who served as MC who mingled along with fashion folk like Candice Lee Kahn and Catherine Zachariou from Fairlady and fashion bloggers Ritza and Elrico from Luxo.

Of everything I saw, typically I most taken with le goodies and had to stop myself from splurging on a Comme des Garcons Sherbet Series 5 fragrance in Cinnamon. It made my arm smell good enough to eat and I fell head over heels in love with it. (The fact that I’m on Atkins right now and craving carbolicious goodness ‘cos also be adding to the fact that anything that reminds me of a cinnamon bun gives me crazy eyes.)

Keen to shop up a storm? The pop up shop is in Cape Town until the 29th of this month and open from 9am to 5pm. It’ll also pop up around the country as follows:
Bloemfontein 25th – 28th April
Nelspruit 2nd- 5th May
Durban 22nd – 26th June
Polakwane 30th May – 2nd June
Pretoria 6th – 9th June
