Bump up your beauty routine with a Payot Elixer serum

French beauty brand Payot have just launched four new botanical-based super serums to help give your current skin care a little boost.

The four new serums are as follows; Élixer Jeunesse (R795) with anti-aging, antioxidant properties for mature skin, Elixer Douceur (R495) to soothe and comfort sensitive skin; Elixer Purete (R495) to balance combination, oily skin and Elixer D’Eau (R495) to hydrate dry skin.

I got to try Elixer D’Eau (thanks Kirsty!) which contains a mix of water-binding ingredients like hyaluronic acid and urea as well as skin soothing oat kernel extract. Payot reckons the latter creates a breathable layer across your skin that helps it to retain its natural water levels.

A quick skim over the ingredients list tells me the formula includes niacinamide (vitamin B3), a great anti-inflammatory that can help improve your skin’s protective barrier and even out your skin tone as well as antioxidant collagen encourager vitamin E.

Texture-wise, Elixer D’Eau feels like very watery glycerine but doesn’t feel sticky in the least. It also absorbs in a flash so you don’t have to wait before applying your moisturiser or night cream on top of it. Nice. I like how it does a great job of zapping the fine, dehydration lines that appear on my face the morning after a particularly boozy indulgent night out.

If you’re looking for a way to boost your hydration levels but don’t want to have to switch from your current moisturiser to something with a heavier texture, this is one way to do it.

Love, love

Leigh

  1. Thanks for the article! I am always looking for something that can combat my dry skin. I live in Colorado, and while it’s incredibly beautiful, it’s terribly for my skin! Regular lotion just doesn’t seem to do the trick so I am looking for something a bit stronger. Thanks for the review I am definitely considering ordering the Elixer D’eau!
