If you’re one of the millions* of women that wear and love DKNY’s bestselling Be Delicious fragrance, you’re going to adore her newest fragrance collection, DKNY Hearts The World. Inspired by the hippest, chicest cities around the globe, namely London, Paris and New York (but of course!), each scent has the typical Be Delicious crisp green apple at its heart but different base and top notes to conjure up a sense of each city.
Now let’s take a look shall we?

DKNY Be Delicious Hearts Paris is romantic woody-floral blend that includes rose, jasmine and violet as well as patchouli, vetiver, cashmere woods and a dash of vanilla. ‘For me, I heart Paris was all about capturing the refinement and the sophistication of the Parisian woman’, says Trudi Loren, vice president for Estee Lauder fragrance development worldwide. ‘She’s has an incredible sense of style. She’s classic, never overdone and with modern flare’.

DKNY Be Delicious Hearts London is also pretty refined in that it’s a true floral with notes that include English countryside favourites like hyacinth, honeysuckle and rose. Somewhere in the mix you’ll also find an unexpected ‘edgy’ addition in blackcurrant buds which are there to express a bit of the hipness you associate with the city. Its base, however, is an elegant mix of amber and vetiver, inspired by the sophisticated women who waltz down High Street Kensington.

As for DKNY Be Delicious Heart NYC, it’s nothing other than the original Be Delicious. This is ‘cos years back, when Loren was fasked to create it, she was told to capture the essence of New York in a bottle. To date, she feels it’s still pretty much just that.

Of the two new scents, I was most taken with DKNY Be Delicious Hearts Paris. To me it’s fresh and clean and crisp, but thanks to the addition of vanilla (a wink towards the evil deliciousness that it Parisian patisseries), it doesn’t land up in ‘sporty’ territory. Also, I’m totally biased towards choses qui sont Français as my beloved little sister lives in Lille, an hour away from Paris.

Anyway, are you dying to get in and give them a sniff yourself? You’ll find each 50ml EDP in Edgars and Red Square exclusively going for a very reasonable R620 a pop.
Love, love
Leigh
P.S. Loren says you never know, they might create more fragrances inspired by other cities yet. Kinda interesting to imagine what a Be Delicious Hearts Cape Town might smell like…
*DKNY has sold over four million bottles of Be Delicious EDP to date. If they had to fill up the volume of The Empire State building with the bottles, they could do it 600 times over! Sjoe!
Do you know why the Rio one wont be available in South Africa
It was developed for a different market /world zone which is sad ‘cos I’m sure lots of African, Australians etc would appreciate it; it’s more of a fruity floral.
Oh ok. Well I guess I’ll be on the lookout to purchase it online then…
