Woo hoo! Aussie hair care finally hits SA shores

Back in 2000 I spent a hideous gap year in London. Never in all my life have I felt so cold, pale, fat and poor. I remember coming this close to shoplifting a package of sliced ham and sold a pint of my own blood to go see The Lion King, nearly passing out in my seat as a result.

Still, one of the very few things that was awesome about my UK adventure was getting to spend as much time as I wanted to in Boots. To me, Boots is like Clicks on steriods and you all know how crazy I am for Clicks…

Anyway, one of my best British drugstore discoveries actually hails all the way from Australia; Aussie 3 Minute Miracle hair treatments:

My favourite is the Reconstructor on the right.

Girls, you have NO IDEA as to how awesome this smells; like sweet, fruity bubblegum, but not in a bad way. It makes use of mega-moisturising  Australian Balm Mint that penetrates deeply into your hair to hydrate each strand while smoothing down the cuticle to ensure a healthy-looking shine. Since falling in love with it in London, I’ve been smuggling it into South Africa ever since, be it via friends visiting from the UK or by buying it off eBay at great expense.

Naturally, I’m now thrilled that Aussie’s hair care line in now available at Clicks. Like BEYOND thrilled. Aside from THREE different 3 Minute Miracle hair treatments, you can pick up Aussie’s shampoos and conditioners too.

These are the five shampoos. There's one to volumise, hydrate, cleanse 'normal' hair, treat long locks and bust frizz. Each has a matching conditioner too.

I’m a big fan of their Miracle Moist shampoo (second from the left) and conditioner. I love that they hydrate yet don’t weigh my hair down; leave it easy to detangle and have that same delish, somewhat ‘addictive’ scent as 3 Minute Miracle.

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the brand the other day, held on the Tigger 2.

Ahoy, mateys!

Myself and my fellow beauties got treated to yummy Malibu-infused cocktails on the deck:

Pretty, right?

Usually I’m good with boats but for some reason I felt ridiculously sea sick. Like RIDICULOUSLY…

What do you mean 'am I okay'? Of course I'm okay. Can't you see? I'm, like, loving it!

Fortunately this didn’t last too long and by the time we docked in Camps Bay I felt good enough to chat to our gorgeous host, Lala from Vuzu, without throwing up in her lap.

Lala says she's also a huge 3 Minute Miracle fan and loves that it leaves her hair feeling 'super managable and soft'.

If you want to try Aussie products for yourself, you’ll find them exclusively at Clicks. The shampoos and conditioners are a very reasonable R64,99 and the treatments are R84,99 each. You’d best move fast though. I was in their V&A store last week and saw that the entire range had almost all sold out!

Love, love

Leigh

  1. ha ha – reading one of your reviews first thing in the morning really makes my day! Laughed out loud at this one!! Definitely going to try this when my brazilian keratin wears out!!

  2. I couldn’t be happier!! I’ve heard so many great things about Aussie from UK and US beauty blogs… I was always so jealous of their gorgeous hair but now I can have it too! YAY! 🙂

  3. Thank you so much for your blog. I spent a few years in London and have been searching for familiar hair products I loved- Aussie 3min Miracle being one of them. Clicks seems to be the place to go when searching for anything international.
