If you haven’t heard, rap diva Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin have been picked as the new spokespeeps for MAC’s new Viva Glam lippies due out early next year.

Since ’94, MAC have produced at least one Viva Glam lipstick a year. Some have been limited editions and others have become a permanent part of the line with all the proceeds going to AIDS charities. Previous Viva Glam faces have included ‘outspoken’ celebs like Lady Gaga, Ru Paul (remember him/her?), Fergie, Cyndi Lauper and Missy Elliot. 

Now I totally get why Nicki’s a fab fit for MAC. She’s worked with them before as the inspiration for another limited edition lippie called Pink Friday. It flew off the shelves and you can still pick up a tube on eBay, but it’ll take a serious bite out of your wallet.

As for Ricky, I think he’s a bit of an odd fit. I mean, the dude hasn’t really ‘done’ much of late and I’m not sure he wears lipstick. Still, he’s worked with AIDS charities in the past and, if he takes his shirt off, he’ll provide some nice eye candy in the ads which are to be shot by David LaChapelle. (Don’t know him? Google his shizz, it’s amazeballs…)
