I’m not going to lie to you girls, I consider Blistex to be the King Kong of all lip balms and, should they ever stop making their DCT lip treatment with exfoliating AHA acids, I’ll spend the rest of my life tracking the remaining tubs down on eBay. Quite simply, it is the shizz and I feel angsty if I leave the house without it.
So, in saying that, how do I like the brand’s new Moisture Melt lip balm? In a nutshell, it’s nice but it’s no DCT. Still, not everyone’s as totally cray cray about the medicinal-tasting lip stripper like I am.

Texture-wise, Moisture Melt feels like a slightly less viscous Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream. It has a VERY subtle, sweet scent; a nice fruity taste that’s enough to be present but won’t make you want to lick your lips and contains teensy li’l micro-beads, ‘moisturising spheres’. These are supposed to contain moisturising Shea butter and soothing aloe but the concentration, according to the ingredients list, is too high for it to just exist within the beads so it’s safe to assume these actives have been blended throughout the entire balm.

On your lips, it feels like a smoother textured Vaseline and does a good job of creating a barrier to prevent your lips from drying out. I also like that it contains an SPF; your lips need sun protection too.
