TLC’s new Acne Wash and Q10 Coenzyme facial wipes

I LOVE facial wipes! My absolute favourite were Johnson’s lavender-scented ‘baby bed time’ wipes. They had the sweetest, softest, most addictive li’l scent… nothing like ‘jou ouma se lavender’… promise. Alas, they’re no longer available in South Africa and I’ve been shopping around for a new favourite ever since. Thus, I was glad to be sent TLC’s newest additions to their cleansing facial wipes line up; ‘Acne Wash’ and ‘Q10 Coenzyme’.

Of the two, my favourite is the Acne Wash version:

TLC's Acne Wash face wipes

They’re the perfect amount of ‘wet’ (not too dry nor soaking) and have a fresh ‘green-type’ scent that isn’t half as nice as Johnson’s but easy to let slide as they’re infused with spot-busting witch hazel extract, soothing chamomile and pore-exfoliating salicylic acid (BHA). These are the type of ingredients I’d look for in a toner to treat spot-prone skin so having them all in a little wipe is beyond fabulous. I’m also a fan of TLC’s packaging; each pack boasts a resealable plastic flap that keeps your wipes as fresh as the day you opened them.

As for the Q10 wipes, these make use of antioxidants co-enzyme Q-10, vitamin E and green tea as well as moisturising sweet almond and grapeseed oil. (The packaging says it also contains an AHA to exfoliate but I can’t find any in the ingredients list unless they’re referring to the pineapple extract. This could have had an exfoliating effect via it’s enzymes if it wasn’t listed almost stone cold last in the ingredients list.)

Either way, these are also great at taking off your make-up, have a soft floral scent and don’t leave any oily residue on your skin. Still, I preferred the Acne Wash version best as using them is an easy way to add a few spot-zapping ingredients to my beauty routine which already makes use of other anti-oxidants.

If you want to try them yourself, keep an eye out for them in Clicks and Dis-Chem going for R42,99 a pack.

You can also pop on over to Facebook to enter TLC’s Save Water Challenge. (As it turns out, you can save up to seven litres of water by using a facial wipe as opposed to washing your face over the sink.) You can win your share of R100 000 in prizes like spa vouchers, designer handbags and The Body Shop hampers… you know, all the good stuff…

Good luck girls!
