GUESS summer fashion show at Bungalow in Camps Bay

Read my post on Sunglass Hut’s Out The Box party? After that, I decided to nip into the back end of a GUESS launch held at Bungalow in Camps Bay. By this stage the wind was absolutely pumping and I pretty much had to leopard crawl my way into the event. Still, I got there just in time to catch a bit of the show and nab a few shots. They didn’t turn out great tho; half of them had a piece of my hair flying into the frame.

Told you it was windy!
Told ya. Wind was crazy.

Still, I did manage to nick a few decent shots:

Clearly this summer’s all about hot shirtless model boys in low slung GUESS jeans. To enlarge, simply click the pic.

After the show Ard Matthews jumped on stage and treated guests to a li’l performance.

Aside from Ard, Arno Carstens and Theo Crous also entertained.

Fab fashion, hot models and stellar live acts aside, the GUESS bash had yet another thing going for it; seriously good food! I was especially taken with these uber delish li’l mini burgers they were serving on planks. I tried to take a shot but model boy here photobombed my snap:

He’s pretending to take a hap out of the board but, actually, it just looks like I kicked him where it counts. This may or may not have been the case. I take my food photography very, very seriously…

Oooh! There were also these amazing little GUESS-branded red velvet cake pops floating around and I initially struggled to find them. Fortunately, I spotted a half eaten one lying next to the DJ booth.

I immediately snapped it up and stuffed it into my mouth much to the horror of my fashion friends. It was totes worth it though. So much so that when a piece of it broke off and fell on the floor I nearly made a lunge for it but stopped myself at the last second (but only ‘cos I was standing next to Arno Carstens.)

Anyway, after a bit of a schimgle, I braved the gale force winds once more to get my car, hugging my very spoilicious Guess goodie bag nice and tight. It included a pair of GUESS sunnies and the brand’s new scent, Guess Seductive Sunkissed.

While I haven’t sniffed the original GUESS Seductive, Sunkissed is supposed to be a lighter, more summery version with notes that include grapefruit, raspberry, black currant blossom, jasmine, vanilla and woody musk. To me it’s a nice easy-to-wear fresh floral with a very definite juicy raspberry top note that makes it remind me just a little bit of Givenchy’s Hot Couture. A lovely ‘lunch with the girls’ type of scent.

Anyway, here’s a big thanks to GUESS and the PR girls at KL PR & Events for a lovely, well put together event that totally rocked despite the not so fabulous weather.

Love, love
