How to wear colour block wedges with Madison footwear and stylist Marilize de Clercq

28 Sep

Right, so this is my last post as Madison footwear’s brand ambassador for September. (It’s kind of like being Miss SA, but better ‘cos you don’t have to wear a stupid sash, just all the mooi skoene they give you…)

Anyway, we’re chatting to personal stylist Marilize de Clercq again, but get a bit more specific. This time round, she’s going to fill us in on how to wear this season’s biggest trends, colour block wedges.

Marilize has styled local celebs like Jeannie D and Jo-Ann Strauss, just so you know…

Marilize reckons there are two fail safe ways to rock a colour block wedge, the first is to wear them with something that matches with just one or two of the colours in the shoe. For example, if you had to wear this boy…

…you could team him with jeans and a taupe, black or hot pink top. As you’re making a bold colour statement Marilize cautions you to keep your accessories ‘clean and simple’.

‘Another look is to style a colour block shoe with the monotone palette and make it your statement piece’, she says. For example, you could easily wear a colourful shoe like this…

..with an all black outfit (‘cos black is a ‘neutral’ that match anything) or something in one of the colours of the shoe, like a teal or royal blue dress.

Love, love

Leigh
