Michel Mercier detangling brush review (it’s totally fabulous…)

9 Feb

Okay, let me cut to the chase here. If your hair’s the type that gets tangled you HAVE to buy one of Michel Mercier’s detangling brushes. Like TODAY. Seriously.

They're available in different models for fine, medium and coarse hair.

I get to test drive loads of beauty goodies every week and while I like most of them, I’m not necessary going to keep them in my beauty artillery when I’m done. However, should I ever lose this baby, I’ll run out and replace him tomorrow. This brush kicks ass and works like a bomb; I’m not sure how exactly, but it really really does…

To give you more of an idea, Michel’s detangler is a wide paddle brush with lots of fine little bristles of varying lengths. When I first laid eyes on it I was kinda thinking ‘jaaa… there’s no way this dude’s going to be able to sort me out…’  I’ve got fine colour-treated hair and when the baby fine strands around my crown get in a tangle (which happens pretty much every time I wash my hair) getting them to play the game is HARD WORK. I either have to give them a spritz with a detangling spray and carefully coax the bos out with my brush or, in a worst case scenario, resort to some kind of slippery serum and hope to God I don’t get it in my oil-prone roots…

So ja… I have no clue how just running this brush through my snaggles manages to sort them out, but it does. There have been a few days where I’ve needed to break out the detangling spray (as opposed to every bloody day), but when used in combination with the detangling brush, the knots are gone within seconds as opposed minutes.

Oh! And did I mention Michel’s brushes just won some fancy award in France, a ‘Victoires de la Beaute’? Love you Michel, your brush is rocking my world!

Michel Mercier’s detangling brushes are availalbe at Pick n’ Pay, Dis-Chem and Checkers for R149,99. I’ve got the pink one for fine hair. It’s the shizz…
